Gracing the Mace
Sup Y’all and welcome to the new Mace site and blog
As some of you still remember, my illustrious career started on Vancouver’s North Shore ripping 2 wheel steeze then designing and making my own protective gear in my house.

Word got out and Hoots boomed; spreading as wide as 7 countries and innovating a ton of concepts that are still prevalent in today’s designs! Those were the days when Roach, Core Rat and Hoots were the only game in town and we did everything ourselves, stretched to the limit to meet demand while still trying to stick rides in.
Times have changed a lot, and in the process I realized my passion for gear and clothing really fuelled my desire to build trails, jumps and cool rideable sh*t. I cut loose from the gear and started my ‘build’ company; focusing all of my time on developing Skills Parks, Special events and of course trail….sweet trail! Having learned many lessons in the manufacturing and distribution business I made sure that the next venture I would undertake would provide more time to ride, and man has it ever been awesome! The last 4 years have been the best of my career and it continues to look wild in the foreseeable future!
I am still learning a ton on the bike and have changed my style of riding for the fifth time in my 9 year career, I am so stoked!!!

So, here’s the deal…Mace made me a offer I could not refuse: be on the Mace team with Leech and Kobra and give as much feedback on the gear as possible especially the armour…My instant thought: just how much are they really going to listen? … Well Mace freaks, be stoked, very stoked! So far I have committed significant hours of development and meetings with the designer and engineers of the armour and they have been super receptive to all my ideas; from streamlining and placement of target areas to strap and pad anchoring systems.
2010 Hoots will grace the mace… back to wearing practical, protective gear that riders really designed!
Check ya when I get back from this trip…
